About this postcard

The main view shows Lovett Hall, also called the Administration Building, at Rice Institute in Houston. The red brick facade with white trim and an arched arcade faces formal hedges, with a small statue in the foreground. Inset views show the statue of William Marsh Rice and the Campanile. Rice Institute opened in 1912 on a bequest from William Marsh Rice, and the printed text calls it one of the country's largest privately endowed colleges, noting that its endowment had grown from $9 million to $14.5 million.
