About this postcard
The Lucky Palm leans over the clear water at Silver Springs, Florida, its trunk arcing into the foreground. White glass-bottom excursion boats are moored along a low pavilion, with newer buildings, a walkway, and pink flowering shrubs in the background. Silver Springs, near Ocala, was one of Florida's oldest tourist attractions, and its glass-bottom boats carried visitors over the spring to look down into the clear water. The palm was a known landmark and a natural frame for views of the spring.
