About this postcard

A modern two-story brick and glass office building on a Lynchburg street corner, identified by rooftop lettering as the Lynchburg Federal Savings & Loan Association. A curved canopy shelters the glass entrance, a late-1950s automobile is parked at the right, and a vertical blade sign reading "FEDERAL / LYNCHBURG" stands at the left. Older brick commercial blocks and a church spire rise behind. The streamlined curtain-wall design gave the savings and loan a modern face in the postwar decades, when such institutions were expanding home lending in Lynchburg and other American towns.
