About this postcard

An aerial view of the MacFadden-Deauville Hotel on the ocean at 67th Street in Miami Beach, with a curved beach, cabana colonnade, umbrellas, and bathers in the surf and pool area. Parked cars line the road behind the resort, and waves break along the shore. By 1947 Miami Beach was a booming postwar resort, and the hotel advertised a cabana club, the "World's Largest Outdoor Salt Water Swimming Pool," a new diving tower, an air-conditioned dining room and cocktail lounge, and beach terrace dining. The sender, Ginny, caught the vacation mood, writing that she and Joe were enjoying "the lazy life" before work resumed the next week.
