About this postcard

Three views of the red-brick buildings of the Presbyterian Orphans' Home at Barium Springs, North Carolina: a long two-story dormitory across a broad lawn, a taller towered hall among trees, and a columned portico building at right. The home was established by the Presbyterian Church in the late 19th century as an orphanage for children of the region and grew into a self-contained campus with its own school, farm and church. Cards like this were sold to supporters and visitors in the mid-20th century.
