Main entrance and Administration Building tower, University of Texas, Austin, Texas, circa 1945

Linen

About this postcard

View across the main entrance mall of the University of Texas at Austin, with the Union Building on the left, the tall Administration Building (the Tower) rising in the center, and the Architectural Building on the right, framed by live oaks and beds of red flowers. The Tower, completed in 1937 to a design by Paul Philippe Cret, is the university's best-known landmark and long housed the main library. The card's linen-era coloring and the "OB-H530" number point to a mid-20th-century printing.

Dear Lois, I was very happy to receive your letter and to know that you are having fun and keep- ing out of mischief. Half of school is out and we are having exams. Funny, but I do have to study real hard. The weather has been unusual never going over 95°. Celia Kranzfelder
