Looking down Main Street in Lee, Massachusetts, with commercial blocks lining both sides. A mansard-roofed wooden building with a second-story porch stands on the left, across from a brick block with a tall corner tower. Horse-drawn carriages share the unpaved roadway, and trolley wires and poles run overhead. Lee was a paper-mill town in the Berkshires, and this downtown view from 1906 shows a mix of wooden and brick commercial buildings served by electric street railway lines.
Light border along the bottom edge; handwritten inscription in the lower right corner; slight surface wear and speckling. Postmark: AMESBURY MASS. DEC 28 8-30A 1906. Undivided back with "This side for the Address." only; Rotograph Co. imprint printed in Germany; light edge/corner wear and a few foxing spots.
