Looking down Main Street in Lee, Massachusetts, with commercial blocks lining both sides: a mansard-roofed wooden building with a second-story porch on the left and a brick block with a tall corner tower on the right, horse-drawn carriages in the unpaved roadway, and trolley wires and poles overhead. Lee, in Berkshire County, was a paper-mill town, and this view captures its turn-of-the-century downtown as photographed for the Rotograph Company's postcard line.
Light border along the bottom edge; handwritten inscription in the lower right corner; slight surface wear and speckling.
Postmark: FITCHBURG MASS 8-30A 1906 (month digit partly obscured by the red POST CARD overprint). Undivided back with "This side for the Address." only; Rotograph Co. imprint printed in Germany; light edge/corner wear and a few foxing spots.
