About this postcard

A tinted street view looks west along Main Street from Eleventh Street in Richmond, Virginia, with trolley tracks running down the cobbled roadway, horse-drawn wagons and carriages in the street, and pedestrians in early-1900s dress on both sidewalks. Tall commercial blocks line the street, including a building lettered "IMPORTERS & JOBBERS" and "AMERICAN NATIONAL BANK" rising behind it. Main Street was Richmond's principal wholesale and financial thoroughfare in this period, lined with jobbing houses, banks and offices near the Capitol district.
