Main Street looking west, Hyannis, Massachusetts, circa 1910

About this postcard

A view west along Main Street in Hyannis, Massachusetts, with a broad unpaved road, a raised stone curb and sidewalk, and large shade trees arching over the street. Frame houses and storefronts line both sides; at right a sign reads "W. C. Woodbury Custom Tailor," and a few figures and a horse-drawn wagon or carriage are visible in the distance. Hyannis, on Cape Cod in the town of Barnstable, was by this era a growing village and steamboat landing serving the summer resort trade of the Cape.
