About this postcard

Looking down Main Street in Memphis, Tennessee, with a yellow streetcar on tracks running toward the viewer, pedestrians and a horse-drawn wagon in the snowy roadway, and commercial blocks lining both sides. Signs for the Hotel Gehring, Floyd's, a restaurant, and the Memphis Savings Bank are legible on the facades, with a tall white office building rising in the distance. The view was copyrighted in 1906 by the Detroit Publishing Co., whose photochrom prints documented American city streets for postcard and lantern-slide markets.
