About this postcard

A man in a white shirt and dark trousers stands in the open-air charcoal yard at Jack Daniel Distillery, directing a hose at a blazing stack of wood. Smoke and orange flame rise from the burn, with other tall stacks of wood, a wheelbarrow, scattered planks, and distillery buildings set against a wooded hillside. The burn produces charcoal that Jack Daniel's uses to mellow its whiskey, filtering new whiskey through charcoal before aging. The distillery has long been a central business in Lynchburg, a small town in Middle Tennessee.
