About this postcard
A man in a brown suit stands behind a seated woman in a blue dress and covers her eyes with both hands. She holds a bouquet and faces forward while the printed verse turns the pose into a flirtatious guessing game: the lover steals across flower-strewn land, clasps her eyes, and asks, "Now maiden, tell me who it is that holds you thus so fast." She stays silent until his hands unclasp. The coy scene and sentimental verse were common on early twentieth-century greeting postcards, where a light romantic image carried a friendly message.
