[illegible] old friends I will get away from
here between this and Xmas,
as I have a very quiet man
whose death is likely to occur
at any time, and in the event
it did I would have to come
straight back. I wanted to
go to Bessie Hudspeth's
wedding next week but
find it uncomfortable. Give
Mrs. Incey my love and
tell her that yet once
'if always may cross'.
I think however I am
confirmed in my old
bachelorhood. A hopeless
case. I hope Ed will
have no serious trouble
Yours truly,
Handwritten message on front; sepia real photo; horizontal crack/crease across image; white border.
Postmark: DURBIN, W. VA. DEC 17 3 PM (year not legible). Undivided back ('THIS SIDE FOR THE ADDRESS'), 1c Franklin Series 1902 stamp, real-photo card. Foxing/stains and smudges on card.
