I don't think I will get away from
here between this and Xmas,
as I have a very sick man
whose death is likely to occur
at any time, and in the event
it did I would have to come
straight back. I wanted to
go to Bessie Huddleston's
wedding this week but
find it uncomfortable. Give
Mrs Haney my love and
tell her that yet ours
'if always may cross'.
I think however I am
confirmed in my old
bachelorhood. A hopeless
case. I hope Ed will
have no serious trouble
Yours truly,
