About this postcard

The view looks across Marblehead Harbor, with small rowboats and dories clustered in the foreground and sloops, schooners, and a small steam vessel moored farther out. A rocky shore and wharf buildings frame the left edge, and the town waterfront lines the far shore. Marblehead, on Massachusetts Bay north of Boston, was long one of New England's leading yachting and fishing harbors, home to the Boston Yacht Club and a summer sailing fleet.
