About this postcard

Looking down Market Street in Chattanooga, Tennessee, with trolley tracks running along the unpaved roadway, pedestrians in period dress, horse-drawn wagons and a streetcar in the distance. Business blocks line both sides, with signs for the Stag Hotel, D.B. Loveman, Gass Bros. Restaurant and other storefronts. The Detroit Publishing Company copyrighted this tinted view in 1907, when Market Street was the city's principal commercial thoroughfare and electric trolleys shared the street with wagons and foot traffic.
