About this postcard
Marywood Cottage, a red guest cottage at Hillside Lodge, sits among trees in autumn foliage. Several people are seated on the screened porch and a woman stands near the door; a birch tree rises in the foreground and a car is partly visible at right. Hillside Lodge, on Route 390 at Canadensis in the Pocono Mountains, advertised honeymoon and vacation stays on the crest of the mountain overlooking a heated pool. Its listing promised new units with private baths, cross-ventilation, individual heat, soundproof construction, and meals in a new dining room, along with a TV room, lounge, recreation room, library, cocktail lounge, card room, and sun deck. Mrs. Hedwig Linder was owner-manager. Margaret, Tom and the boys wrote that this was their cottage, that the meals were good, and that the sun looked like it might come out.
