About this postcard
A corner view of the Masonic Temple in Chester, Pennsylvania: a four-story red-brick building on a white stone base, with two-story arched windows and tall white columns rising through the upper floors, parked 1930s automobiles at the curb and rowhouses down the side street. Chester, on the Delaware River south of Philadelphia, was an early industrial city, and its Masonic lodge numbered among the civic fraternal organizations that raised substantial temple buildings in the early twentieth century. The card is a Curt Teich "C.T. Art-Colortone" linen-finish view of the 1930s.
