About this postcard

Interior view of Memorial Hall, the circular room beneath the dome of the Massachusetts State House in Boston, showing its arched arcade, marble columns, balustraded gallery and mural panels, with a case of Civil War battle flags displayed in the central arch. Memorial Hall was created in the 1890s to honor Massachusetts soldiers and sailors who died in the Civil War, and its walls carry murals by Francis Davis Millet depicting scenes from the state's history. The regimental flags preserved here are among the hall's most treasured relics.
