About this postcard
The photograph shows the Memorial Union at Iowa State College in Ames, a large stone building with an arched entrance and columns, fronted by a fountain and landscaped shrubs. Trees frame the view of the facade. Connie writes from Welch Hall to the Stock family in Reading, Pennsylvania, describing the campus as beautiful and large. She mentions a roommate from northern Iowa, plans to shop for spreads and curtains, and sends hellos to friends from Zeta Chi and her Sunday School class. The Memorial Union was a center of student life at Iowa State College, now Iowa State University.
