About this postcard

The view shows Mercy Hospital in Valley City, North Dakota, a four-story cream-colored building in the Mission/Spanish Colonial Revival style, with red tile roofs, arched windows and balconies, a domed corner tower, and an arched entrance court. Young trees and flower beds sit on the lawn in front. Valley City was a railroad and trade center in the Sheyenne River valley, and the hospital's Mediterranean detailing reflects a style often chosen for institutions in the early twentieth century.
