About this postcard
A snow-covered cottage sits beside a calm river at sunset, with bare and russet-leaved trees behind a rustic fence and a small empty rowboat moored in the foreground. The printed greeting "Merry Christmas" appears in blue and red, its initial C set in a gold shield. Clyde Miller addressed the card to a household in Walton, New York, with a short Christmas wish. Walton is a Delaware County village, and the card belongs to the early 1900s boom in holiday postcards, when Christmas greetings were exchanged in huge numbers.
