The Mexican Saddle, a named rock formation in South Cheyenne Cañon, rises above a curving dirt road. A tall, banded red rock cliff stands on the left, with evergreen trees and green undergrowth filling the gap between rock walls on the right. The canyon cuts into the foothills near Colorado Springs and was a well-known scenic drive, with Seven Falls among its attractions. By the 1930s, auto tourists could follow the canyon road past named formations like this one.
