About this postcard

An elevated view of the Midtown Manhattan skyline centers on the Chrysler Building, with the Radio City complex visible in the background. The Chrysler Building, designed by William Van Alen, was completed in 1930 and stood as the world's tallest building for about a year; its terraced Art Deco crown and spire made it a symbol of the city. Radio City Music Hall opened in 1932, and the surrounding Rockefeller Center complex helped define the midtown skyline in the decades that followed.
