About this postcard
Long, low red-painted farm buildings with shingled roofs, a tall brick smokestack, a cupola with weathervane, and an American flag on a pole, set behind a broad lawn and dirt road. The caption names these as the milk buildings of the Walker-Gordon Farm at Plainsboro, New Jersey, a model dairy established in the 1890s that became widely known for producing "certified" and specially modified milk under medical supervision. The complex later gained fame for its Rotolactor, a circular mechanical milking machine installed in 1930.
