A tinted farmyard scene titled "Milking Time": two brown-and-white cows stand in a straw-strewn yard between whitewashed, thatched cottages, while a woman in a red shawl and white apron pauses by a wooden fence and a second figure in green stoops beside a dark cow. Chickens peck in the foreground and pink pigs root at the right, with green hills and a cloudy sky behind. Such pastoral genre views were popular sentimental subjects on early twentieth-century picture postcards, idealizing rural farm life.
White border with worn, chipped corners and light edge wear; small blemish near upper right; faint, illegible imprint at lower left.
No postmark. Undivided back ("FOR ADDRESS ONLY.") with Tuck's "OILETTE" Irish Life Series IV imprint, printed in England; light soiling and bumped/creased corners, no handwriting.
