Minnesota State Capitol, St. Paul, Minnesota, circa 1915

About this postcard

The card shows the Minnesota State Capitol in St. Paul, a large white classical building with a tall drum and dome, colonnaded wings and three American flags flying from poles on the roof and lawn. Designed by Cass Gilbert and completed in 1905, the building houses the Minnesota Legislature, the governor's office and the state Supreme Court and is modeled on St. Peter's Basilica in Rome. The caption names it simply as the State Capitol Building, St. Paul, Minn.
