A three-bay brick fire station with two tall hose towers and a central gabled section, viewed from the street. A large tree and a utility pole with wires stand in front, and the sky is light blue with clouds. Hose towers were common at early twentieth-century firehouses, where wet hose was hoisted up to dry after use. Waltham was a manufacturing city west of Boston, known in the period for watchmaking, and the station stood on Moody Street, a busy commercial corridor.
