About this postcard
The Moon Bridge arcs over a pond in the Japanese Tea Garden in Golden Gate Park. The wooden bridge rises in a steep curve above the water, framed by cherry trees in pink bloom, dense green shrubs, a bamboo fence, and stone edging along the bank. The garden began as a Japanese Village for the 1894 Midwinter Exposition and became a permanent feature of the park. The sender's note places this visit within a broader San Francisco tour that included cable car rides, the Top of the Mark, the Golden Gate Bridge, and Fisherman's Wharf, with a stop at the Tea Garden on a chilly day.
