Mount Hood from Lost Lake, Oregon, circa 1931

About this postcard

A snow-streaked Mount Hood rises beyond a dark forested ridge, seen across the still water of Lost Lake, with evergreen branches framing the view in the foreground. The printed caption names the scene directly. Mount Hood, Oregon's highest peak at 11,249 feet, is a dormant stratovolcano of the Cascade Range, and Lost Lake on its northwest flank is a long-popular resort and camping spot reached by forest roads.
