A color view of the Mount of the Holy Cross in the Colorado Rockies, its summit and steep eastern face streaked with snow, including the famous cross-shaped snow couloir that gives the peak its name. The mountain, rising to 14,005 feet in the Sawatch Range within what is now White River National Forest, became a national sensation after William Henry Jackson photographed the snow cross in 1873 and was later protected as the Holy Cross Wilderness. The card's caption names the peak simply as "Mount Holy Cross."
Wide white border around a blue-ruled color image; printed caption and number 508 in blue below the picture. Slight edge wear and light soiling on the border.
No postmark; unused card. Undivided back with red "POST-CARD." heading and "THIS SIDE IS EXCLUSIVELY FOR THE ADDRESS." plus a stamp box reading "DOMESTIC ONE CENT / FOREIGN TWO CENTS" — typical of the undivided-back era (c. 1901–1907). Front shows a white-bordered color view of Mount Holy Cross. Light soiling/toning on the back, no writing.
