Mount Stephen rises above the Kicking Horse River near Field, British Columbia, in a view looking west. Its snow-streaked face dominates the valley, with dense evergreen forest below and a winding dirt road along the river; a small automobile on the road gives a sense of scale. Field was a Canadian Pacific Railway townsite in the Rockies, and Mount Stephen is named for George Stephen, the railway's first president. The Kicking Horse River and nearby pass formed part of the CPR's mountain route.
White border; printed caption; hand-coloured real photograph; light edge wear.
No postmark. Undivided back ('The Address only to be written here'); printed in England; heavy album/scrapbook residue and paper loss at corners; dealer pencil notation 'RM25 / $2.00' at top right (not correspondence).
