About this postcard
A tree-shaded gravel drive curves past a cluster of steep-roofed frame and masonry buildings, with a wooden bench in the right foreground and stone walls along the slope. The caption names this as the U.S. Reservation Mountain Drive at the entrance to the Army and Navy Hospital grounds in Hot Springs, Arkansas. The Army and Navy General Hospital opened on the Hot Springs Reservation in the 1880s, drawing on the area's thermal springs for treatment of soldiers and sailors; the surrounding reservation became Hot Springs National Park in 1921.
