Mt. Feake Cemetery and Waltham Watch Factory, Waltham, MA, 1916

About this postcard

The view looks across the water toward the Waltham Watch Factory, a large brick industrial complex with a tall smokestack. In the foreground, the stone entrance to Mt. Feake Cemetery frames paths, trees, and an American flag at left. The factory was the works of the Waltham Watch Company, one of the city's best-known employers and a major center of watch manufacturing in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Mt. Feake Cemetery is a landscaped burial ground in Waltham, set here against the busy industrial plant across the water.
