About this postcard

The card pictures the long, straight track of the Mt. Manitou Incline Railway climbing a densely wooded mountainside in Colorado, with buildings visible at the base. Opened in 1907, the funicular carried passengers up Mount Manitou on a steep grade and was promoted as the longest and highest incline railway in the world. It ceased operation in 1990, and its route is now a popular hiking trail.
