A snow-streaked Mount Shasta rises above a dark evergreen forest, with a small lake and a red-roofed boathouse or shelter in the foreground; the card labels the peak as 14,161 feet high and part of the "Shasta - Cascade Wonderland." Mount Shasta is a large stratovolcano at the southern end of the Cascade Range in Siskiyou County, and its glaciers and perennial snowfields made it a long-standing subject for Western scenic postcards and tourist promotion of the region.
