A quiet stretch of the Ammonoosuc River fills the foreground, its dark water mirroring trees and sky. Low wooded banks and a gravel bar sit in the middle distance, and beyond a dark evergreen ridge rises the pale, rounded profile of Mount Washington. The Ammonoosuc rises on the western slopes of Mount Washington, the highest peak in the northeastern United States, and the river and mountain were familiar subjects for White Mountains scenic views.
Thin white border; corners lightly worn, minor edge wear; color lithograph with a slightly grainy screen.
Unused divided-back postcard; no postmark or handwriting. Publisher imprint at left: The Atkinson News Co., Tilton, N.H., No. 1212, Made in Germany. Light toning and minor edge wear.
