About this postcard
A color view of the massive brick and stone Municipal Auditorium and Community Center in St. Louis, shown from a corner across the street with pedestrians on the sidewalks. The building's long colonnade of white columns, monumental entrance block and green-tiled hipped roofs are clearly visible. Opened in 1934 as the city's main convention and performance hall (later known as Kiel Auditorium), it was designed in a stripped classical style and served St. Louis for decades before its demolition in the early 1990s.
