The view looks across a broad sheet of water toward a rocky shore, with low rocky islets in the foreground and steep, light-toned slopes rising behind. The printed caption reads "Nahant Rock," referring to Nahant, the rocky peninsula and seaside resort north of Boston. Nahant drew Bostonians on summer excursions in the early 1900s, and its shoreline was a familiar subject for local view cards.
Scan is rotated 180 degrees; the printed caption sits upside down at the top of the image. A handwritten initial "E" in ink appears at the top left of the image side. Monochrome print with light surface wear, a faint crease and a smudge near the lower edge.
Postmark: BOSTON MASS. STATION 3 MAR 19 18-30A 07. Undivided back with red "Post Card" heading and "THIS SIDE IS FOR THE ADDRESS."; 1¢ green Franklin (Series 1902) stamp; publisher imprint printed in Saxony; light edge wear and a small crease at right.
