About this postcard

A view along the roadway of the New Market Street Bridge at Harrisburg, looking across the Susquehanna River toward the wooded far shore, with a steel truss railroad bridge visible downstream. The concrete span is lined with ornate lamp posts and balustrades, and the pavement carries painted lane lines. The Market Street Bridge opened in 1928 as a concrete arch crossing of the Susquehanna, replacing an earlier 1888 iron bridge at the same location.
