A New Year greeting card with an embossed border of holly, red ribbons, a small bell, and poinsettia blossoms surrounding a printed verse that begins “The New Year rings out bright and clear.” The design is typical of early twentieth-century holiday postcards, when New Year’s greetings were widely exchanged in the same manner as Christmas cards. The verse extends a wish that its “notes” ring true in the recipient’s heart.
Embossed textured stock; printed card number 881 at lower left; light age discoloration and faint marks at upper right.
