About this postcard
The corner bank building at 637 Main Street in Waltham has a projecting sign for the Newton-Waltham Bank and Trust Company, broad windows, and a clock and thermometer sign above the entrance. Cars of the period are parked along the street. The printed caption calls it "one of suburban Boston's largest and strongest Commercial Banks" with nineteen offices serving Newton, Waltham, Wayland, and Weston. The glassy, low-slung design and the multi-office claim reflect the postwar expansion of suburban commercial banking in the Boston suburbs.
