Bagnell Dam appears at night, its long curved crest outlined in strings of lights that reflect across the dark water of Lake of the Ozarks. A full moon and stars fill the sky above the wooded shoreline. Completed in 1931 on the Osage River, the dam supplied hydroelectric power and created a large reservoir that became a resort destination in the Missouri Ozarks.
