About this postcard
A moonlit night view of Bagnell Dam, its long curved crest outlined in strings of lights that reflect across the dark water of Lake of the Ozarks, with a full moon and stars above and a wooded shoreline in the distance. Bagnell Dam, completed in 1931 on the Osage River, impounds Lake of the Ozarks, one of the largest man-made lakes in the United States, and its powerhouse long supplied hydroelectric power to the region. The dam and lake became a popular Missouri resort area in the decades that followed.
