Nutting's on the Charles, Waltham, MA, circa 1915

Card type
Lithograph

About this postcard

The card shows Nutting's on the Charles, a long green building with a dark roof and a cupola flying an American flag, set beside the Charles River in Waltham. A wide dirt road in front carries several early automobiles and pedestrians, with a low fence separating the road from the water. The automobiles place the scene in the early automobile era, when riverside restaurants and roadhouses served as destinations for drives out of Boston.
