"Old Baldy" seen from the orange groves, California, circa 1945

Card type
Linen

About this postcard

Rows of orange trees heavy with fruit run toward the viewer, with brown foothills and the snow-capped peak known as "Old Baldy" (Mount San Antonio) rising beyond under a clear blue sky. The card presents the classic Southern California contrast between irrigated citrus groves and the San Gabriel Mountains; the Curt Teich production number "1A-H426" at the lower right dates the printing to the 1940s linen era.
