About this postcard

The view pairs the Old Faithful Inn, with its log facade and steep gabled roofs, and the plume of Old Faithful Geyser rising against a pale sky. The Inn was built in 1903-04 to designs by Robert C. Reamer and stands beside the geyser in Yellowstone's Upper Geyser Basin, the section where, as the printed text notes, the largest and finest geysers are gathered within about a mile. Old Faithful, named for the regularity of its eruptions, anchors one of the park's main visitor centers; the text notes stores, camps, a museum, and a bath house nearby. Yellowstone was established in 1872 as the first national park.
