About this postcard

The view shows the log-and-shingle mass of the Old Faithful Inn at right, with steam and spray from Old Faithful Geyser rising beyond a pine tree at left. The Inn, built in 1903-04 to designs by Robert Reamer, is one of the best-known national park lodges in the United States, its lobby framed by lodgepole pine. Old Faithful erupts on a roughly regular schedule and has drawn visitors to the Upper Geyser Basin since the 1870s. The surrounding basin is one of the park's main gathering places. It serves as a community center and supply point with stores, camps, a museum, and a bath house, set among a dense group of geysers described as the largest and finest in the world, gathered within a mile.
