The card shows the Old Jail of St. Augustine, Florida — a two-story gray stone building with arched windows, a small cupola and a covered porch — with horse-drawn carriages and drivers waiting along the low wall in front. The building was constructed in 1891 by Henry Flagler's company to serve as the St. Johns County jail and now operates as a historic museum. The scene is rendered in the bright, hand-colored style typical of mid-century linen postcards, with tourists and carriage men in period costume.
Linen-textured stock with visible crosshatch grain; narrow white border at bottom edge; printed number "18" at lower left.
No postmark. Unused divided-back linen-texture card; Tichnor "Quality Views" imprint with "MADE IN U.S.A." stamp box and card number 89855 (c. 1930s–40s). Pencil dealer notation "PJC 5/4/57 -1-" at top right. Adhesive residue/stain at left edge.
